Introduction
Generally, having a proper healthcare system in the country requires consideration of factors ranging from geo-political to multicultural perspectives. An ideal care system should incorporate various facets including physical access to care, prevention, palliative care, mental health, technology, and cultural competence. The mentioned aspects are crucial components of healthcare that should be provided to enable the public to receive improved and quality service delivery. The health and wellness of the people in the country should be given priority to facilitate the productivity of the citizens. The paper will focus on how various components can be implemented in the ideal healthcare system to enhance the quality of care services within the country.
Physical Access to Care
Physical access to care implies having the ability to obtain medical services at any time. Patients are capable of meeting or receiving health information from doctors. It is necessary for the ideal healthcare system to facilitate ease of accessing medical services among the public irrespective of their political, social, cultural, or even ethnic background (Holtz, 2017). In order to implement this component, I will promote patient-centered practices. This approach will ensure that practitioners are focused on attending to the needs of patients such as providing them with relevant information and giving them immediate attention. In addition, I will ensure that key services are available within the facilities to facilitate quick examination and treatment of sick individuals.
Prevention, Screening, and Monitoring
The prevention, screening, and monitoring component of health will be provided for every member of the healthcare system. This is critically important in keeping people healthy and providing them with the best quality of life. Every member of my healthcare system will receive preventive screenings for their age and gender. In addition, I will promote public education, vaccinate the community in case of a disease outbreak, and even teach people about the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The mentioned strategies will enhance the ability of the healthcare system to prevent the development and possible spread of diseases in the country. Similarly, to facilitate screening, I will encourage rapid tests and assessments of people in hospital facilities nationwide to identify pending health conditions (Miller et al., 2021). The tactic is effective since the care providers will be able to detect diseases at early stages and take proactive measures against them. In addition, to devise monitoring processes in the system, I will encourage the providers to check the patients regularly to ensure they keep track of the persons health status.
Palliative Care
Patients suffering from terminal illnesses such as chronic cancer will be subjected to palliative care. This component will enable the individuals to receive well-coordinated services aimed at reducing pain. To implement this aspect in my healthcare system, I will offer training services to practitioners on how to handle and help people manage agony. Furthermore, the facility will provide proper services to sick persons to help ease anguish (Salins et al., 2020). Physicians will be encouraged to respect the will of such individuals and guarantee them their wishes. Lastly, I will establish a team in charge of providing social and emotional support to the patients to encourage their hope during difficult moments.
Promoting Health Behaviors
Generally, promoting health behaviors entails encouraging the public to adopt practices that enhance their mental, emotional, and physical wellness. The ideal healthcare should be at the forefront of enhancing healthy conduct. To implement this component, I will educate people and create awareness of the importance of engaging in certain habits. For instance, I will inform the public about the advantages of having a healthy eating plan. The approach will entail organizing national campaigns and providing posters and other materials communicating the importance of practicing healthy conduct (Ntoumanis et al., 2021). Furthermore, I will advise the practitioners to help people with behavioral interventions.
Mental Health
Mental health is a major concern, and it affects the wellness of the people in society. It encompasses the psychological, social, and emotional status of the individuals. The ideal healthcare system should provide effective services such as therapy, medication, and continuous counseling programs to the affected persons. To promote effective mental health services, I will advocate for regular training and education of practitioners in hospitals to enable them to perform proper diagnosis and management of different conditions (Greenberg et al., 2020). When healthcare providers are well trained, they will have the ability to deal with challenging cases of mental illness within the facility as well as in the surrounding community. In addition, I will encourage an integrated care system whereby there is proper coordination between providers of primary care and those offering mental health services. This aspect will promote comprehensive care, which is useful in lowering emotional problems.
Technology
In the present, technology has become an integral part of healthcare delivery. It is necessary for the ideal healthcare system to prioritize the use of digitalization in all aspects of care delivery to promote quality patient services. In order to implement this component, I will ensure all hospitals adopt the use of electronic health records to enable practitioners to have easy access to patient details. Similarly, I will encourage the training of care providers on using emerging technologies to complement their services. For instance, nurses will be trained on how to use Blockchain technologies such as patient-centric electronic health records to facilitate the storage and quick retrieval of patients data (Tyan et al., 2021). Furthermore, I will facilitate the use of mobile health applications to allow patients to access sensitive information about their health conditions without having to visit the care facilities.
Financing the Healthcare System
In order to establish a proper universal healthcare system, financing is necessary. It is mandatory for the ideal healthcare to have effective and sustainable funding to facilitate operations (Ifeagwu et al., 2021). To achieve this, I will encourage the use of insurance coverage programs across all facilities in the country. The coverage will be extended to cover as many disease conditions as possible. Sometimes payment for the care services becomes a challenge to most patients. To eliminate the issue, I will ensure my healthcare has various electronic payment methods such as VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and PayPal to enhance the ease of money transfer. Similarly, I will source donors to fund the sector and provide needed financial support to supplement the available resources. Furthermore, I will encourage the private sector to venture into providing care services to increase the sources of funds. Lastly, I will engage the government to allocate significant capital toward hospital activities, including establishing infrastructures.
Culture Competence
Generally, cultural competence impacts care delivery in hospitals. Practitioners must take into consideration the aspect to ensure patients from diverse backgrounds receive quality services. In my ideal healthcare system, I will ensure all healthcare providers undergo thorough training to enhance their awareness (Kaihlanen et al., 2019). In addition, I will formulate guidelines that prevent and hold practitioners accountable for failing to comply. In such scenarios, it will be easier for the facilities to embrace and offer services that respect the norms, beliefs, and values of the people. Furthermore, I will encourage diversity by employing practitioners from diverse social backgrounds. This aspect will promote tolerance and inclusion within the facility.
Public Health
Public health is a significant concern in the country, and it is the responsibility of the healthcare system to enhance it. Generally, ideal healthcare should be at the forefront of facilitating the prevention of disease as well as improving quality care. To implement and ensure adequate public health in the country, I will prioritize practices such as disease surveillance (Liu et al., 2020). This approach will allow healthcare facilities to remain proactive and alert for a possible outbreak.
Global Perspectives
In the contemporary world, health issues have become a global concern. An ideal healthcare system should be able to comprehend and facilitate international collaboration (Holtz, 2017). To implement the global perspective, I will encourage engagement in research activities with other nations to reduce funding (Ferguson et al., 2021). The strategy will enhance the exposure of the countrys medics and the research team to world standards. In addition, it facilitates e-health services to enable patients to seek medical attention from different parts of the world.
Conclusion
An ideal healthcare system should guarantee the health and wellness of the public. In my system, I will ensure physical access to care, provision of palliative care, cultural competence, and promotion of health behaviors. Furthermore, I will take advantage of emerging technologies to facilitate and complement the providers in offering quality services. Lastly, I will incorporate global health concerns to ensure the facility is up-to-date in matters of research and other contemporary practices across different regions. These aspects will ensure the system is effective and proactive in meeting the healthcare demands of the people.
