Introduction

Probiotics refer to the yeasts and bacteria that are considered beneficial for human beings, especially in the digestive system. Usually, germs are known to be infectious micro-organisms, thus, causing the disease in human beings. Consequently, the human body contains bacteria perceived to have a positive and negative impact on the body. Nevertheless, probiotics are considered resourceful and of great help in keeping the gut healthy. Probiotics form part of many different groups of micro-organisms known as microbiomes (Kerry et al., 2018). These groups are composed of smaller micro-organisms called microbes that include bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and fungi.

Comparison and Contrast of the Four Probiotics

Saccharomyces boulardii is composed of a combination of bacteria and yeast. The probiotic is commonly found along the intestine, stomach, and vagina. The use of probiotics aid in the digestion of food and keeping the normal flora in restoration. Saccharomyces is significantly used for secondary prevention in patients undergoing antibiotic therapy. The probiotic comprises a single strain of bacteria and yeast. Most studies of probiotics suggested the probiotic to be most effective in diverse infections. As compared to lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, they are made up of only bacteria. The probiotic is commonly found in the human bodys intestines (Kerry et al., 2018). The probiotic is indicated for the prevention of both primary and secondary eczema. Additionally, the lactobacillus rhamnosus GG strain is not composed of dairy products or milk. The probiotic only contains a single strain of bacteria.

Lactobacillus acidophilus is composed of bacteria commonly found in the intestines of the human body. The probiotic has been proven to have efficacy in reducing different depressing symptoms. Moreover, the probiotic is made up of more than one strain, thus, it is referred to as poly-strain. The probiotic is indicated for primary and secondary prevention of a variety of conditions. The probiotic has proven to be efficient in reducing different conditions in the digestive system. On the other hand, lactobacillus casei comprises more than one strain of bacteria (Kerry et al., 2018). The probiotic is indicated for primary and secondary prevention of a variety of conditions. Additionally, the probiotic contains dairy products and has been proven to reduce symptoms of different conditions.

The four probiotics are regarded to have high efficacy in reducing symptoms of different conditions. Saccharomyces boulardii, lactobacillus casei, and Lactobacillus acidophilus are made up of dairy products, while Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG is not. Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, Lactobacillus acidophilus, and lactobacillus casei are indicated for primary and secondary prevention of various conditions. Saccharomyces boulardii is indicated for only secondary prevention (Kerry et al., 2018). Saccharomyces boulardii and Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG are made up of single bacteria strains, while Lactobacillus acidophilus and lactobacillus casei comprise multiple strains of bacteria.

The Most and Least Valuable Probiotics

The most valuable probiotic is lactobacilli acidophilus because of its high efficacy compared to the rest of the probiotics and indication of both primary and secondary prevention. Additionally, the probiotic is made up of multiple bacteria strains, thus, therapeutic in relieving diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome, and mood disorders. The least important probiotic is Saccharomyces boulardii because of the indication of only secondary recurrence of conditions. The probiotic is comprised of only a single strand of bacteria making the probiotic less effective.

Conclusion

Probiotics refer to micro-organisms that are non-pathogenic and administered to the body to prevent and protect the gut against debilitating conditions. Probiotics have portrayed increased efficacy in the prevention of primary and secondary conditions affecting the gut. There are hundreds of probiotics on the market, and there is a need to scrutinize and analyze the most therapeutic before buying. Choosing the most and least valuable depends on several factors based on different aspects such as disease indication, probiotic strains efficacy, formulations of probiotic products, and product quality.
