Nowadays great changes can be observed in the sphere of education. Last decades introduced new ways and methods of doctoral education. That is why, it is necessary to understand and adapt to them, implementing new elements and creating new ways of teaching. Moreover, the sphere of supervision should also be altered. Doctoral supervision now needs to reflect these changes in order to be effective and beneficial. That is why, the following presentations are devoted to investigation of this sphere and possible actions, which main aim is to improve current state of affairs, are discussed. One of the main ideas of these presentations is the development of inter-institutional framework for supporting supervisors, as it will result in increasing of the efficiency of their work and the level of education in the whole. To do it better, there should be a special integrated program of education and activities, which main aim is to influence professional development of a specialist. Moreover, it is suggested to create clear monitoring milestones to make the work of supervisors more standardized and rise the efficiency of students. Besides, the presentation points out main changes in doctoral education and main demands for supervisors development. In this terms, it is stated that nowadays supervisors should also be active researchers and share a common supervision culture. That is why, there should be special courses which will support all attempts of supervisors to conduct their own research. These courses should be obligatory in order to guarantee a high level of professionalism of supervisors. There is the suggestion of creating a collaboration which will help to apply all these new ideas faster and easier. A certain framework, which consists of four elements, is suggested. These elements are university, academic unit, a supervisor and a student. It means that collaboration at all these stages is very important for supervisors and students to be successful and achieve good results. Supervisors should communicate with students and they all should feel support from institutes. Moreover, great importance is given to the pedagogical aspect of this issue. There is no doubt, that supervisory styles have a great significance and influence greatly the process of cooperation between a supervisor and a student. With this in mind, it is stated that pedagogical aspect is very important and should not be forgotten. A good supervisor should take into account students needs and built their communication basing on them. Moreover, supervisors should understand importance of this process for students and encourage them in their decision to make a career and continue their development. Resting on these facts, the presentation gives some different effective models of supervision. Additionally, there is a scheme of a good practice framework for research training, which shows what main stages and components should be taken into account in order to guarantee the highest level of results.
Main statements of these presentations were also discussed at the workshop, where a great number of questions were asked. They showed a high level of understanding of the importance of applying changes to this process and a great level of participation of students.
Having outlined the main issues touched in the presentations, it is possible to say that great importance of further development and investigation of the sphere of supervision should be admitted. It is vital for students to become good specialists and continue their development under new changing conditions.
