Introduction

Work life balance refers balancing the work life and personal life. It is an art of balancing the work and other personal activities which includes activities related with family, society and personal development (KUMARI, 2017). Work life balance is a familiar and also an important topic to every employees. Work life balance is itself clear that there must be balance between work and life. Here, life defines the time which we get out of our work, leisure time, and family time and so on. This study is focusing how work and life can be balance and how it is important to the Vodafone Company. Personal life of an employees is important as the professional life. Work is not only the demand of the staff they also seek the leisure time, holidays, family time and so on. Balancing these two parts; work and life is very much important to increase the outcomes of the each employees. There are other factors to give satisfaction and motivation to employees but work life balance is more important in the current scenario because in this competitive environment people are more focusing in work to survive and losing their personal life as a result they are having stress, less happy, unhealthy family environment and so on (Talukder, 2016). With these factors we are going to cope with how work life balance is affecting the leading company Vodafone.

Vodafone is the leading company in Australia and also all over the world. There are more than 2500 staffs in Australia and more than 120 stores. These staffs and their hard-work is the reason behind the grand success of this company in Australia and in other countries (Anon., n.d.) .In 2017, Vodafone is the top 18 company of Australia among Australian top 25 companies by LinkedIn (Hicks, n.d.).

Rational of study

The finding of this study will be useful to enhance the employees and organizational performance through continuous improvement, increase employees creativity, making good strategic, proper communication etc. Also this research helps to find out important of work life balance on employees productivity and its effect in organization by analyzing the different component of work life balance. So this research helps management to make different strategies to sustain in the competitive and changing environment.

Research question

Managing personal life and work life is challenging for every employees. This is an era of competition and nowadays competition in mobile telecommunication sector is very high. Vodafone is one of the top company in Australia and the competition is very tough with other mobile telecommunication companies (Hicks, n.d.). So this research focus on the relationship between components of work life balance and employees productivity and these affect in the company like Vodafone.

Statement of research problem

This research is carried out to study the employees work life balance and its effect in their working organization. Work life balance is balancing the personal life and work life. Personal life means the life beyond the work or office which is totally separated for ourselves not for public. (Paul, 2018)

This research is done to know the importance of work life balance on employees productivity and how it make impact on Mobile telecommunication company, Vodafone. This research try to find out how work life balance determine the employees productivity and how these effect to Vodafone Company of Australia.

There are number of research available which are focused on work life balance and employee performance in telecommunication sector. In the context of Australia there are very low number of research paper done in mobile telecommunication sector specially focused in Vodafone Company. So other research are based on overall telecommunication industry but this research will be specific in mobile telecommunication industry focus on Vodafone Company in Australia.

Work life balance is needed to enhance the employees productivity and improve the company performance. Variables like flexible working hour, family support, co-workers behaviors, job sharing etc. affects the work life balance. Hence, this research addresses the following issues

  • Is there is any relationship between work life balance and employees productivity and performance of Vodaphone company of Australia?
  • What is the Relationship between workload and employees productivity and how it affect the company?
  • What is the relationship between the work satisfaction and employees productivity and how its affect the company?
  • What is the relationship between the work performance and productivity and its impact to the company?
  • What is the relationship between workplace support and employees productivity and its impact in company?
  • Does flexible working hour affect the employees productivity
