Malaria is a serious tropical disease spread by mosquitoes. If it isn’t diagnosed and treated promptly, it can be fatal. A single mosquito bite is all it takes for someone to become infected. Malaria is found in more than 100 countries, mainly in tropical regions of the world, including:
- Large areas of Africa and Asia
- Central and South America
- Haiti and the Dominican Republic
- Parts of the Middle East
- Some Pacific islands
This is how I could stop the malaria outbreak.
I will be writing about why it would be difficult to stop , how I would stop it and why my interventions would work.
This might be difficult to stop as the plasmodium parasite adapts to vaccines and treatments so it is only possible to use medication to lower chances of getting the parasite in your liver. This can also be difficult to stop or treat as symptoms may not appear until maybe after a year or more . An eradication campaign was started in the 1950s, but it failed globally because of problems including the resistance of mosquitoes to insecticides used to kill them, the resistance of malaria parasites to drugs used to treat them, and administrative issues. In addition, the eradication campaign never involved most of Africa, where malaria is the most common.
Sometimes people themselves dont protect themselves with bed nets or when they see symptoms they dont treat it.
STRATEGY
- Social media alerts. These are the type of websites that the information needs to be spread to.
- Vaccination
- Antimalarial
Ultimate strategy
Quarantine
In a large building all vulnerables placed under massive quarantine. Pesticide should be used or sprayed everywhere. And pest control called to rid everywhere of any mosquitoes even at the cost of genocide . Mandatory sleep under bed nets . Entry only for the pregnant , elderly, children and the sick. Antimalarials for everyone .
Conclusion
If this strategy is followed the malaria outbreak will be controlled perfectly as it was thought out perfectly and has been made foolproof. This intervention would not work for the flu virus asa the flu virus doesnt need a living being to survive and contact isnt from the bite of an animal or living being. Also the way to treat malaria is different from the flu.
In some cases, you may be prescribed emergency standby treatment for malaria before you travel. This is usually if there’s a risk of you becoming infected with malaria while travelling in a remote area with little or no access to medical caRe.
