Introduction
Mental health refers to a good performance of necessary cognitive functions. Desirable cognitive function results in productivity alongside good interaction with the environment. The wellbeing of a person is an essential determinant of ones daily interaction and ability to contribute to societal progress. Psychological illnesses are essentially known to cause a shift in ones behavior, attitude, and general reasoning alongside distressed operation. The psychological disorder leads to adverse effects revolving around pain, incapacity and in extreme cases, the condition can lead to death. Research establishes that for every three people with physical health challenges, one has a psychological complication that mostly ranges from anxiety to extreme cases of depression (Alonso et al., 2018). As research intensifies, it is has been made clear that mental and physical wellbeing are closely interrelated. The essay aims to fuse on the significant goals affecting the community, alongside establishments of the relationship between the physical and mental condition of an individual. The paper also focuses on informed trauma care and analysis on how to help a child from suffering.
Objectives
One of the significant objectives aims at reducing the number of youths engaging in irresponsible consumption, which finally results in weight loss (MHMD-3). Referring to the CDC report, it is evident that more than 14% of youths tend to engage in binge consumption behavior to control their weight (Auerbach et al., 2018). Some of the significant contributors to continuous irresponsible consumption behavior include disturbed perception of his body shape and weight. Recent research has established that most adolescents today are more concerned with their body shape while overlooking serious dietary precautions. In my personal belief, excellent and controlled nutrition, regular physical activity, and a lesser sedentary lifestyle are the most valuable techniques for preventing obesity. In this regard, establishing a helpful health plan mainly for adolescents to avoid some significant health issues stands to be a subject of my interest.
In addition, my second consideration is to reduce the existing number of teenagers who have reported severe depressive episodes (MHMD-4.1). According to the institute on national substance abuse, more than 6% of adults were also said to have cheerless episodes (Auerbach et al., 2018). For this reason, the sooner one gets the necessary treatment, the faster it results in recovery. Primary prevention can certainly assist children and teens avoid extra grave, long-term difficulties as they reach adulthood. Nevertheless, numerous people with mental health problems do not seek professional help. To minimize episodes of depression, I espouse early detection of different behavior patterns in personalities and characters in teenagers. It is highly beneficial, especially in treatment regimens that link healthcare professionals, service users, and mental health providers.
The Relationship Between Mental and Physical Disorders
Psychological and tangible wellbeing are inextricably associated; hence the existence of one condition can lead to the other. Focusing on the WHO report, ones state of wellbeing is characterized by complete mental, physical stability instead of the absence of disease (Auerbach et al., 2018). The existing link between physical and psychological affects individuals quality of life significantly. In this case, individuals suffering from psychiatric are more likely to report chronic diseases. Regular illness results in deprived psychological health conditions, hence affecting the concerned severely.
To prevent the above effect, individuals engagement in routine exercise and access to desirable nutrition result in both mental and physical stability, hence, enhancing community engagement. They create possibilities to improve prevention strategies and reduce risk factors that contribute to psychological and personal wellness. According to studies conducted, men with psychiatric disorders have a shorter life expectancy of estimated 20 years while women are reduced by 15 years (Auerbach et al., 2018). The vast bulk of increased mortality was affected by physical wellness diseases that mainly revolve around cancer, respiration complications, and cardiovascular diseases.
People with personality defects are more prone to developing physical ailments. This is due to substantiation, a combination of life, social-economic, and system-level aspects such as psychological stigma and an absence of availability to health coverage. Medication side effects (for instance, body mass index and hypercholesterolemia levels of cholesterol) also may play an essential role in some cases Nishi et al., 2019) The impact of ones physical fitness results in adverse mental health conditions. In this case, research establishes that overweight subjects people at high risk of depression with more than 55% chances of infection. This perfect example explains how physical conditions lead to adverse mental illnesses, sometimes due to excessive thinking and profound dissatisfaction from the state.
Trauma-Informed Care
This refers to a direct care plan focusing on the ordinary individual with historical trauma issues. This methodology appreciates the inclusion of traumatic stress alongside the contribution of trauma in ones life. As a result, it perceives the widespread effects of trauma and prospective avenues for the healing process. Some of the necessary healing strategies include integrating new mental distress knowledge into policy initiatives, guidelines, and procedures to prevent re-traumatization.
Mental healthcare fundamentals seek to minimize re-traumatization and accelerate healing. They are working to promote perseverance by creating a physically and psychologically supportive environment, rebuilding relationships and boundaries, publicizing freedom and preference, developing collaborative partnerships and participation opportunities, and employing a resilience engagement point of view. I have encountered kids in properly informed trauma care with extremely adverse past experiences throughout my practice. To help them in feeling empowered and appreciated in society, I will employ the use of the following techniques:
Refuge (both physical and emotional); psychological wellbeing is necessary for early life, during teenage and adult years. How humans presume, perceive, and behave is significantly affected by our physiological, personal, and interpersonal health. In this regard, I intend to engage in children and adults education on stress management methods, interpersonal techniques, and how to make decisions. Such consciousness helps in making appropriate decisions influencing their health.
Transparency: openness among individuals tends to establish faith and confidence between parties involved, household associates, personnel, and others participating in the institution. This increases the chances of obtaining complete assistance in finding the root cause of trauma among adults and children. By empowering children to raise their issues freely, they feel appreciated for their experiences and abilities. Such practices will help children and adults develop self-advocacy and other empowerment techniques. Establishing a desirable recovery model is essential to creating an environment full of collaboration, hope, and trust (Tong, 2019). In addition, interaction with individuals formerly recovered from severe life circumstances of trauma helps make recovery plans achievable alongside the improvement of ambition levels of victims.
Through Sensitivity to society, understanding of the past background, and sexual preference, the institution works tirelessly to overcome social discrimination and prejudice. Most of these facilities tend to offer sexual identity assistance, acknowledge victimization, and address customary cultural similarities. Consequently, proper education on the above issues helps in awareness creation and enhanced freedom to report such occurrences. This will help reduce the number of trauma now and in the future, hence minimizing the number of reported physical and mental disorders.
Psychological fitness is significant, and those involved in severe depression have the right to care, comprehension, love, and kindness, along with paths to aspire, ability to heal, restorative, and accomplishment. Intellectual ability, like health and fitness, supports us in achieving and sustaining positive mental health. We celebrate our differences, our environment, and the individuals in them because we are psychologically fit (Tong, 2019). We have the freedom to be innovative, gain knowledge, explore different things, and take chances. We are better equipped to deal with adverse situations in both our personal and professional relationships. We encounter anger and disappointment due to a deceased family member, loss of employment, and broken relationships. These complications help to keep us moving on and appreciate our time once more in time. Based on this discussion, it is essential to intensify campaigns on healthy people and lifestyle change.
Conclusion
In conclusion, there exists a significant link between mental and physical health. The effect of one leads to the occurrence of the other. In this regard, children with severe physical disorders have higher chances of developing mental illness due to a lack of self and social appreciation. To assist patients, especially children with historical trauma, the paper has clearly outlined interventions such as refuse, transparency, and practical education of the society and individuals concerned. It is essential to realize the complexities in understanding the link between psychological and physical conditions, especially among children. Efforts towards understanding the manner of interaction between mind and bodies will strengthen ones ability to ensure favorable choices about health are made. On the other hand, organizational response to ones trauma provides a transparent platform for mitigating trauma effects and recovery.
