On Saturday afternoon April 21, 2018, it was a day when it became the best day of my life which I have dreamed of since I was 10 years old. All birthdays are special but this birthday was really special because I got to see all my family together and the people that love me the most there. This unforgettable day was my quinceanera where I had lots of fun, had a marvelous time being with my family, and danced all night long. My whole quince was astounding but the part that stood out the most to me was dancing with my dad the father-daughter dance, my mom crowing me, and dancing with my siblings.

The day of my quinceanera didn’t start that early church started at 7:00 pm and the reception at 8:00 p.m. Somehow I was able to manage to keep a smile on my face with all the anxiety and nervousness that I was having. I got ready around 5 with my makeup, hair, and my big fuchsia puffy dress on. After being ready we went to go take pictures at the San Juan Plaza. Taking pictures was a fun part to do because I like taking pictures and I’m always ready for the camera. We went to church for mass the priest blessed me and held a mass to thank god for my fifteen years of life. I arrived at a church crowded with my family. Many people went to Sacred Heart to witness the simple elegant tradition of mass. I was honored to see so many people there on my special day in church and in the reception over 350 people were there supporting me and witnessing a special day in my life. When it was my turn to walk down the aisle, soft music was played by my cousin who was singing and playing the guitar. I felt like a princess walking in with my big beautiful ball gown.

Later that day, the celebration continued with a party at the International Centre for Trade. As the party was starting I was so excited for the night to come to see what was in store. My court of honor, my godparents, my siblings, and my parents and I were introduced as they led me into the celebration. My father came out with tears in his eyes and softly removed my cowgirl bling boots from my feet and replaced them with a pair of women’s heels. After this, we started out the night by performing the father-daughter dance. As the song was playing my father was telling me that he is there if I need anything to go talk to him if I need to because he will always be there for me. I thought this part was one of the best parts of this night because I was having a special bond with my dad and unforgettable memory that I will never forget. The whole dance was emotional but it was an amazing experience that I had with my dad even though both of us were emotional. As the song was coming to an end, my dad told me, Youre a beautiful young woman, but you will always be my baby girl. At that moment, tears filled my eyes and I realized how much love my father had for me. I will always remember that moment for the rest of my life.

After dinner, the party continued well into midnight. My mom crowned me which was also a very important event that happened at my quince because my mom was crowing me which meant that I was transferring from a little girl to a young woman. This was also a special moment that I shared with my mom. Another important moment was dancing with my siblings we got to enjoy those 3 minutes of the song dancing together. This was a memorable memory of us dancing together. I will never forget these memories they will always be in my heart. I could hear laughter and joy all around the whole salon. My friends and family were having the best day of their life. I liked seeing them all happy and having a good time dancing to all the traditional music that was playing. I was even dancing with all of my relatives and other friends that were on the guest having the best time of my life. I took lots of pictures with everyone there at the party so I can look back at them and remember how magical this day was to me.

My Quinceanera was the one night that I was the center of attention, and the night I was no longer considered a child I was now a young woman. After all the dancing and partying it was time for this magical day to end which I didn’t want for it to end. I was sad when the clock hit 2 and the people started leaving and when they turned on the lights because it meant that the day that I was hoping for so long has come to an end. My feelings for that day are impossible to describe because so much of good things were happening. Last but not least, I thank my parents for arranging this wonderful celebration for me on my fifteenth birthday and making me feel like a real-life princess.
