Nurses require leadership skills for healthy relationship building. Gracious type of leadership affects the level of satisfaction of staff and customers (Kroning et al., 2020). This implies building a balance, when the environment in the team, happiness of the clients and success of the company are of the same importance.

Gracious leadership does not consist only of caring for employees as mentioned within the previously published literature. In collaboration with nurses, criteria have been identified that a compassionate leader must meet, including being: respectful, giving, caring, appreciative, optimistic, insightful, supporting and understanding (Kroning et al., 2020). Leaders should care the most about the results of the team and the company.

It is proven that self-worth awareness increases the productivity of the health industry workers. Gracious leaders work to create a team environment in which nurses find joy in working toward and achieving their goals as mentioned by Kroning et al. (2020, p.49). Leaders should ensure the same appreciation and care for employees as the employees provide for clients (Kroning et al., 2020). Gracious leadership includes the participation of each employee in the overall result, emphasizing the importance of each in teamwork.
