The test What is Your Learning Style? gave me the following scores:
-
Auditory: 25%;
-
Visual: 40%;
-
Tactile: 35%.
It means that I am predominantly a visual learner. I have known before that I remember things better when I visualize them. I can memorize the position of a text fragment in the page and recollect it when I imagine the sight of this page in my head. However, I am also quite comfortable with tactile memory. I remember shapes, textures, and volumes of objects when I perform practical tasks. It is a bit more difficult with auditory memory as I cannot recollect instructions or directions if I do not see the text or the picture.
Knowing all that, I have tried to do my best to adapt my studying to the information that I gained from the test. I do not think that it is always necessary to sit near the front of the classroom to be able to see what is written on the blackboard. I do not easily get distracted when I concentrate on my notes, no matter how far I am from the front. However, it is better for me to sit somewhere where I cannot hear any noises from the hall.
It seems to me that I am very effective in drawing schemes, charts and present the information in bullet points as it helps me remember the succession of ideas and recollect the whole text when I revise for my exams. I have never used flashcards, but perhaps I will try doing it now.
