Overview
Submit a document with two sections. In the first section, summarize your research on the historical development of the topic from inception through modern‐day usages, both in American culture as well as the global culture, focusing on the most significant developments and contributors to the topic. Select the most significant developments and contributors to the topic. In the second section, explain the real‐world application of your chosen topic in your current location. This should include cost, personnel needed and their availability, timeframe, and local laws and regulations.

Section 1: History and Contemporary Viewpoint. Using a timeline, describe the historical development of the topic from inception through modern‐day usages, both in American culture as well as the global culture. Specifically:
Background: What are the common historical uses of the natural resource(s)?
Describe historical awareness of the topic in America: How and when were issues with the natural resource(s) first identified? What were the initial response(s)?
Compare historical awareness of the topic globally, How and when were issues with the natural resource(s) first identified? What were the initial response(s)?
Significant Developments: During your chosen timeline, what are some significant developments (e.g., scientific discoveries, local actions) and contributors (e.g., scientists, activists) to the topic?
Section 2: Local Real‐World Applications and Specific Steps. Research and explain opportunities and challenges for addressing the topic, including:
Identify the opportunities for change: What do you want to happen?
Identify the hurdles to overcome: For example, time required to implement, complete, and continue practice throughout the future, as well as zoning or bylaw changes needed to permit solar panel installation, financial limitations (e.g., cost of an in‐demand water heater is four times the cost of a standard tank) or incentives (e.g., there are incentives to install wind turbines but not desalination systems), and so on.
What to Submit
Milestone Two should follow these formatting guidelines: Title page, double spacing, 12‐point Times New Roman font, one‐inch margins, and citations and references in APA format. This section should be two to three pages and fully explain the history of the topic. You must incorporate at least five scholarly resources.
